Instead, players line up their wooden figures end-to-end to move freely across a richly illustrated map of Sherwood Forest, the village, and Nottingham Castle. The farther you want to reach, the more figures you use — a simple, intuitive, and genuinely physical mechanic that puts you in the scene. The board itself is alive. Interactive panels flip to reveal hidden guards, noblemen, and surprises. Colored discs drawn from a bag trigger dark events — guards attack, hope dips, Guy of Gisbourne stalks ever closer. Manage the Banner of Hope, steal carriages, defeat enemies, and complete the adventure's objectives before time runs out. If you fail, you read how the story ends — then pick up where you left off.
